Flamingo Friday Block Party -- A Big Hit

Oaklyn Hills' first annual Flamingo Friday Block Party on Friday, August 14, turned out around 80 neighbors and friends for more than 3 hours of fun!
The kids threw footballs, rode bikes and jumped in the bouncer while adults enjoyed meeting new folks and chatting with friends. Everyone enjoyed the food, and we had plenty of it -- from grilled hotdogs, chili and deviled eggs to chips and dip, cookies, homemade cupcakes and brownies.
Thanks to everyone who participated and to those who went the extra mile to plan, set-up and clean-up the event. We look forward to more Flamingo Friday fun in the future and hope to make the second anual Block Party an even bigger hit.
For now, the flamingos have migrated... but they plan to make their return next summer. We hope you plan to return as well!

Oaklyn Hills’ first annual Flamingo Friday Block Party!

School is starting up, and summer is winding down… which means Flamingo Fridays will be on hiatus until next year. To celebrate the occasion, we’ve decided to make the last Flamingo Friday an event to remember!

On FRIDAY, August 14, at 6:30pm, come out to the Lakeland Ridge cul-de-sac for fellowship, food and fun!

As always, bring your chairs and beverages of choice for you and your family. Kids may want to bring bikes, bubbles, balls, Frisbees or other “sharable” toys! And this time around, since it’s a block party, please plan to bring a food item, a side dish or a dessert.

Let us know your plans to attend, and tell us what you’d like to bring! To make sure we have enough food for our Flamingo Friday crowd, please let us know if you will be at the party and how many will attend by this Monday, August 10. And let us know what you can bring! We’re looking for items like the following: cooked hot dogs, hot dog buns, potato chips, condiments, baked beans, side salads, brownies, cupcakes, etc., etc.
